Create a CAD incident

GovWorx can request that CAD create an incident before a CAD record exists. The request carries the incident information GovWorx has at that point. It does not require a pre-existing CAD incident identifier. Once CAD creates the record, GovWorx and CAD associate it with the CAD incident identifier. That association lets GovWorx direct later updates to the right CAD incident.

Association

The normal path is for CAD to provide its incident identifier as part of the creation exchange. GovWorx uses that identifier to establish the association. Some CAD systems cannot provide an incident identifier until after creation. In that case, CAD uses an incident.linked event to provide the identifier and establish the association. incident.linked is the asynchronous fallback, not the normal association path.

After creation

Once the CAD incident identifier is known, GovWorx can send updates for that record. See Receive incident updates from GovWorx. The configured CAD endpoint uses the same authentication and reliability requirements as other GovWorx-to-CAD deliveries. See Authentication and Reliability.
